Wussow & Associate’s founding attorney, Mike Wussow, has been practicing law for over 15 years. During his career he has spent significant time practicing in business transactions, real estate, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and litigation. Mike prides himself on helping businesses in our community grow and prosper through practical, solution-oriented and forward-thinking legal counsel.

Mike now focuses his practice on the needs of businesses of every size, from emerging startups to publicly traded companies, helping them in areas such as entity formation, real estate transactions, negotiation of commercial agreements, corporate governance, developing business templates, mergers and acquisitions, non-disclosure agreements, financing transactions, employment and independent contractor agreements, commercial leasing and investment transactions.

Mike also acts as outside general counsel for a number of companies and represents certain companies, including Noodles & Company, in leasing transactions on a national basis. He represents numerous restaurants, bars and coffee shops in connection with various legal needs, including liquor license matters, lease review and negotiation, company organization, investment transactions, and business sale. Having been part owner of a Boulder restaurant, Mike has a unique understanding of the challenges in the restaurant industry.

Mike graduated cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1996. While in law school, he was a member of the Senior Editorial Board for the Wisconsin Law Review. After law school, Mike served as law clerk to Justice Jon P. Wilcox on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. He has also practiced with Sidley & Austin in Chicago and with Foley & Lardner in Madison, Wisconsin. After moving to Boulder in 2001, Mike served as law clerk to Chief Judge Roxanne Bailin at the Boulder County District Court and worked for the Berg Hill law firm. Mike is licensed to practice law in Colorado, Wisconsin and Illinois.

Mike moved to Boulder to be near the mountains, and in his free time, he enjoys skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and photography. He can’t wait until he is able to do these activities with his young son and daughter. 
Whenever they get the chance, Mike and his wife, Alina, like to travel to new places and experience other cultures. Mike also enjoys serving as a Clinical Advisor to students in the Entrepreneurial Law Clinics at the University of Colorado Law School.
